The more I look at the unifacial blade, the more sense it makes. It reminds me of a crooked knife - which also cuts both left and right, and has a flat bottom on the blade, with a unifacial bevel....

Sotol handle, quick notched using grooves and punch, set in pitch, wrapped in dogbane, covered in pitch again. Blade- Riley daysite.
